World Mission Sunday takes place on Sunday 23rd October.
On this day we think of struggling parishes in the growing church throughout Africa, South America, Asia, and Oceania. The collection taken up on World Mission Sunday is a crucial lifeline to all the dioceses and aids communities to build schools, health centres, parish halls and churches. It also supports in the education of future leaders in faith. October and World Mission Sunday is also a time for the faithful of the world to show their appreciation towards the work of overseas missionaries. The generosity offered will be used to support missionary activities in over 1,100 struggling dioceses, mostly in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. You can help right now. Please donate €4.00 by texting the word ‘Mission‘ to 50300. Alternatively donate at or call 01 4972035. To learn more, go to

Friday 14th of October is Children’s Day of Mission Prayer. The most important part of this day is to encourage children to pray for the children around the world who are just like them, but have less!
Mission Prayer for all Children Everywhere:
Lord May all children in the world, Share Love, Share Friendship and Live in the Peace of your Love, now and forever. Amen.

The Movement in our lives from Exclusion to Inclusion!
In today’s Gospel the cure of the lepers is not just a physical cure, it also brought the people healed back from exclusion into the community. Perhaps you have experienced the movement from exclusion to inclusion. What was it like for you to be accepted once again when you had felt excluded? Who were the Jesus people for you who brought about this change? For whom have you been able to do this, perhaps it was by healing a rift with a friend, or by listening to the opinion of someone you had dismissed out of hand, or by opening the door in some other way to another? Some people work hard at breaking down barriers in society, seeking inclusion for those who find themselves labelled as lepers by society or by a section of society. Where have you seen this happening? Who has been doing this kind of work? Where is the good news in such action? When we do good for another, we may not do it for the thanks we hope to get, but it can hurt when no gratitude is shown. Sometimes it is those closest to us who can take us for granted. What helps you to cope in such circumstances? How have you experienced the positive effects of thanks given and received?
