Third Sunday of AdventGaudete Sunday
The 3rd Sunday of Advent every year is Gaudete or Rejoice Sunday. Looking forward to Christmas comes with the expectation of the joy and happiness that Christmas brings; the joy of spending great time with loved ones, friends and family, of giving & receiving presents. Yet, the heart of Christmas joy is God coming to dwell amongst us in the mystery of the Emmanuel. The entrance antiphon today says; “Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say rejoice, for the Lord is near”. In whatever situation we find ourselves, may the joy of the Lord, who is with us, be our strength.

The SVP will hold their National Appeal Collection in the Parish next weekend, 10th-11th December. Those wishing to donate can do so as they leave the church at the end of each mass. Our Helpline number for those who require assistance is 087-231 8982. Many thanks for your continued support.

SVP BLUE ENVELOPES CAMPAIGN: This year’s SVP Annual Appeal theme is ‘Impossible Choices’ to reflect what those struggling financially must face every day of their lives. Blue Envelopes will be available at all Masses in the parish from early December. Donations can be placed in these (or any envelope clearly marked SVP) and dropped into one of the church collection boxes, or left into the Vincent’s Shop in Clara, or alternatively posted to the address affixed to the envelope. Donations made in this way go directly to helping those who require assistance in our community, and for which we are extremely grateful.
