Parish Newsletter- Sunday 22nd December 2024

The lighting of the fourth candle signifies the virtue of love which encapsulates the essence of Christ’s message to humanity. As the fourth candle is illuminated, it serves as a poignant reminder to us of the boundless love that God bestowed upon the world through the gift of his Son.

Please pray for the soul of Willie Maxwell, Streamstown; recently deceased.  R.I.P.

On the Eve of Jesus’ coming into the world, we anticipate yet try to remain grounded in this present moment. Let us not neglect the GIFT of this very time and place; our waiting, our joy, our expecting; these are GIFTS! May we embrace them and reverence the goodness of this moment. Just as Mary journeyed to see her cousin Elizabeth in final preparation for Jesus’ coming, we gather with our loved ones and those with whom we can share our joy as we look towards the MIRACLE of Christmas!

Visit www.catholicbishops.ie/adventcalendar/ for a daily thought during Advent!

May God, Our Loving Father bless us all with a Christmas of Joy and Peace and Hope and Health in the New Year.
Amen.
