The Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation

The Church Teaches:

During the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation, we confess our sins and receive absolution.
The sacrament, usually referred to as Confession, provides spiritual healing for those who have been distanced from God by their sins, and it restores them to the Grace of God.
Jesus first instituted the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation on Easter Day, when- after rising from the dead following his crucifixion- he appeared to the apostles and said: “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven; if you retain anyone’s sins, they are retained.”
John 20: 22-23

First Confession in Clara Parish

As part of their preparation for First Holy Communion, children in Second Classes in the Parish schools also prepare for their First Confession. Parents are encouraged to join their children in receiving the sacrament on this special occasion.

Regular Confession times

Saturdays after 10.00am masses, on request, or at any time, again on request.
Please visit the sacristy before or after the mass to make arrangements to receive the sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation.
